- 1 lb chicken breast or thigh strips
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- 1 small red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 small green bell pepper, sliced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds or cashews
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix chicken with soy sauce, egg, cornstarch, and flour.
- Marinate for 15-20 minutes.
- Heat oil and fry chicken until golden and crispy.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Heat oil in another pan and sauté garlic and ginger.
- Add bell peppers and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
- Add chili garlic sauce, ketchup, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, and chili flakes.
- Simmer sauce for 1-2 minutes.
- Add fried chicken and toss well to coat.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until combined.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds or cashews.
Notes
Adjust spice level to taste. Fry chicken in batches for maximum crispiness. Serve hot for best flavor.
