Description
This refreshing and soothing lemon balm drink not only helps in weight loss but also offers calming and digestive benefits. With just a few simple ingredients, this drink can be your go-to natural remedy for boosting metabolism and reducing cravings.
Ingredients
-
1–2 tablespoons Fresh Lemon Balm Leaves (or 1–2 teaspoons dried lemon balm)
-
1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
-
1 teaspoon Honey or Stevia (optional, for sweetness)
-
1 cup Hot Water
-
Small piece of Ginger (optional, grated)
-
A few Mint Leaves (optional, for flavor)
Instructions
-
Prepare the Lemon Balm: Wash the fresh lemon balm leaves thoroughly. If using dried leaves, measure 1-2 teaspoons. For convenience, you can also use a lemon balm tea bag.
-
Boil the Water: Heat the water to a boil. If adding ginger, add it to the water and allow it to steep along with the lemon balm.
-
Steep the Lemon Balm: Pour the boiling water over the lemon balm leaves (fresh or dried). Let it steep for 5 minutes for a rich flavor, or adjust steeping time for a milder taste.
-
Add Lemon Juice and Sweetener: After steeping, strain the leaves (if fresh) and add lemon juice. Sweeten with honey or stevia according to your preference.
-
Garnish and Serve: Optional: Add mint leaves for an added touch of flavor. Stir well and enjoy either hot or chilled.
Notes
-
For a caffeine-free evening drink, consider drinking it before bedtime for its relaxing properties.
-
If fresh lemon balm is not available, dried lemon balm works perfectly as a substitute.
-
The sweetness level can be adjusted by varying the amount of honey or stevia.
-
Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. For an extra twist, freeze the drink into ice cubes for future use.
