- 2 cups (480 ml / 16 fl oz) milk (whole or 2%)
- 1 cup (240 ml / 8 fl oz) heavy cream
- ½ cup (100 g / 3.5 oz) granulated sugar
- ½ cup (120 ml / 4 fl oz) chocolate syrup
- ¼ cup (20 g / 0.7 oz) cocoa powder, sifted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- Whipped cream (optional)
- Chocolate shavings
- Crushed candy canes
- Holiday sprinkles
Instructions
- Brew a strong coffee base and let it cool.
- In a large saucepan, combine cooled coffee, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cocoa powder, and cinnamon.
- Whisk the mixture until smooth and aromatic.
- Heat gently over medium heat, stirring to prevent scorching.
- Simmer gently for 1 hour to develop full flavor.
- Once the mixture coats the back of a spoon, it’s ready to serve.
- Ladle into mugs and top with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, crushed candy canes, and holiday sprinkles.
Notes
