Description
These spooky mummy hot dogs are the ultimate Halloween snack or dinner idea—fun, kid-friendly, and ready in just 25 minutes. With golden crescent dough bandages and playful mustard eyes, this recipe is easier than traditional pigs in a blanket but way more festive.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 all-beef hot dogs (bun-length preferred)
- 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 oz can)
- 1/4 cup yellow mustard (for eyes)
- 1/4 cup ketchup (alternative for eyes)
- Optional: 2-3 slices American cheese, candy eyeballs, 2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pat hot dogs dry.
- Unroll crescent dough into 4 rectangles and cut each into thin strips (about 1 cm wide).
- Wrap strips around each hot dog, leaving small gaps for mummy face. Add cheese strips if using.
- Place on baking sheet, brush with melted butter, and bake 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool 2–3 minutes, then add mustard or ketchup dots for eyes (or attach candy eyeballs).
Notes
Leave gaps when wrapping dough to create authentic mummy look. Don’t add candy eyes until after baking or they’ll melt.
