- 1 lb lean ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 can refried beans (black beans optional)
- 1 cup low-fat sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1 cup salsa
- 1½ cups shredded iceberg lettuce
- Chopped tomatoes
- Chopped onions
- Large flour tortillas (for tombstones)
- Black olives (optional)
- Jalapeños (optional)
Instructions
- Brown ground beef in skillet 6–8 minutes, breaking into small pieces.
- Drain fat, add taco seasoning + 2–3 tbsp water, simmer 3–4 minutes.
- Spread refried beans in serving dish as base.
- Add seasoned beef evenly over beans.
- Spread sour cream, then mashed avocado over beef layer.
- Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and onions.
- Cut tortillas into tombstone shapes, bake 350°F for 8–10 minutes until crispy.
- Insert tombstones into dip, decorate with olives and jalapeños for spooky accents.
Notes
Serve in a rectangular glass or Halloween-themed dish for best graveyard effect. Add lime to avocado to prevent browning. Assemble no more than 2 hours before serving.
