Easy Christmas Crack Recipe: 5 Ingredients, 30 Minutes, Pure Holiday Magic!

  • Total Time: 2 hours 30 minutes
  • Yield: 40-50 pieces 1x

Description

This Christmas Crack recipe combines crispy saltine crackers, buttery brown sugar toffee, melted chocolate, and festive toppings for the ultimate sweet-salty holiday treat everyone will crave. Quick, simple, and irresistibly delicious!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4050 Saltine Crackers (approximately one sleeve)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (semisweet or milk chocolate)
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans or almonds)
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt (for sprinkling)
  • 1 teaspoon holiday sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  2. Arrange saltine crackers in a single, even layer on the prepared sheet.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar and stir continuously until fully combined. Bring to a rolling boil and cook 3–5 minutes, stirring constantly, until thickened and caramel-like.
  4. Pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the crackers and spread quickly with a spatula.
  5. Bake for 5–7 minutes, until the toffee is bubbly but not burnt.
  6. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee. Let sit for 2–3 minutes to melt, then spread evenly.
  7. While chocolate is still soft, sprinkle chopped nuts, sea salt, and holiday sprinkles on top.
  8. Cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours until fully set.
  9. Break into pieces or cut into squares and serve.

Notes

Ensure the toffee mixture reaches a steady boil for at least 3 minutes to achieve the perfect crisp texture. Chill completely before breaking for the best ‘crack’ effect.
