- 1 1/4 cups (250g) granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup (132g) brown sugar
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup (100g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (60g) chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk melted butter with granulated and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Add vanilla and eggs one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl sift flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips and nuts or M&Ms if using.
- Scoop dough onto baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart. Roll in powdered sugar for a crinkle top if desired.
- Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are set and centers slightly soft.
- Cool 5 minutes on the sheet, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Drizzle with melted chocolate and top with festive sprinkles once cooled.
Notes
For extra fudgy cookies, avoid overbaking and allow cookies to finish setting on the baking sheet.
