- 1½ cups saltine crackers, crumbled
- 2 cups whole milk, divided
- 1 tsp Italian herbs
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Dash cayenne pepper (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- ½ cup all-purpose flour, for dredging
- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, gently mix ground beef, crackers, 1 cup milk, herbs, spices, salt, and pepper.
- Form mixture into 6–8 evenly sized patties.
- Dredge patties lightly in flour and brown in a skillet for 2–3 minutes per side.
- Arrange browned patties in the prepared baking dish.
- Whisk cream of mushroom soup with remaining 1 cup milk until smooth.
- Pour gravy evenly over patties.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Uncover and bake an additional 10 minutes until bubbly.
- Rest 5 minutes before serving.
